Enfield's Labour Council are set to allow Tottenham Hotspur to lease our beloved Whitewebbs, having broken their promise to let us pick a bidder.
The Covid-19 pandemic has reminded everyone of just how lucky we are to have wide open green space and ancient woodland in our area. We must not lose access to Whitewebbs.
We call on Enfield Council to make sure Spurs' plans:
- Do not substantially limit public access to Whitewebbs with extensive building work for a Football Academy.
- Does not damage Whitewebbs' natural environment, especially guaranteeing its ancient woodland is protected and meadows are protected during relandscaping work.
- Are subject to a proper democratic consultation, giving local people the chance to amend or reject the plans if they choose.
Will you join the Enfield Liberal Democrats in fighting to protect Whitewebbs?
We call on Enfield Council to make sure Spurs' development plans:
- Keeps all of Whitewebbs open and free to use for the public.
- Does not damage Whitewebbs' natural environment, guaranteeing its ancient woodland is protected.
