Talking Liberally - Local Democracy that listens

Join us for our monthly discussion evening "Talking Liberally" - where we invite members to hear from guest speakers and discuss the big ideas and policies that motivate us.

Our topic this month is "A local democracy that actually listens".

We are delighted to be joined by the following guest speakers:

1. Emma Rigby, founder of Love Your Doorstep, one of Enfield's best known and respected local community groups.

2. Councillor Jake Short from Lib Dem-run Sutton Council.

3. Jon Alexander, co-author of the Social Liberal Forum's "Citizen's Britain" report and co-founder of the New Citizenship Project.

We're excited to be discussing the issue that matters to all liberals; local democracy.

After years of high profile controversies from Enfield Council, it's clear local politics needs a refreshing new perspective on how to improve local democracy.

We'll discuss ideas for improving consultation with residents and community groups in Enfield, as well as improving engagement and the sense of confidence people have in their local council to listen to their views.

Will you join us for this great event?
