Public Transport MUST work for all

For many wheelchair users Enfield’s buses are a lifeline.

As we develop Enfield we must remember this. The Council must consider all users and all modes of transport, but it has sometimes fallen short in this goal.

For instance, on Genotin Road the well-used bus stop has been turned around and located next to the kerb. It now only allows 90cm of clearance between the seats and the flats. A normal wheelchair needs 81.5 cm of clearance. This only leaves 8.5 cm for people to stand in. That’s a standard wheelchair, a mobility scooter would need more.

Do you think this is adequate?  We would love to hear your thoughts about this and other local issues. Mail us at hello@enfield-libdems.org.uk
